Evaluate Your Plate? Nourishment Beyond Food
When we hear the word nutrition, most of us immediately think of food, the meals we chew, swallow, and digest. While those choices are important, true nourishment goes much deeper. A nutritious plate is not just about what you eat; it’s about what feeds your body, mind, and spirit.
Two Plates, One You
We all carry two plates in life:
🍴 The Edible Plate – This is the food you consume daily, the nutrients that fuel your physiology. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, hydration, and balanced meals all provide the body with the energy and structure it needs to thrive.
🌸 The Non-Edible Plate – Just as important, this plate is filled with the “ingredients” that feed your well-being from the outside in:
-
Socialization & relationships
-
Exercise & joyful movement
-
Financial health
-
Education & learning
-
Home cooking & creativity in the kitchen
-
Spirituality
-
Happiness & play
-
Restful sleep
-
Hydration & self-care rituals
Think About Your Plate
A truly nutritious plate is about harmony, feeding not only the body but also the soul. So, the next time you sit down to eat, remember: your health isn’t just about what’s on your fork, but also about what fills your life.
I have been with Catherine for at least 8 years. One thing I can tell you is she will tell you the truth about yourself. She starts with asking you how you're feeling. Based on your response to her, she might have to alter my workout that day. There are days I needed to be stretched, days for a light workout or a hard workout, and constantly ask about my diet and water intake. She takes up classes all the time to enrich herself which helps her clients. After talking with her, I have gone back to my primary care doctor to ask certain questions or request certain test. My primary care doctor " loves" her. She has prepared meals for me, even catered a couple of small affairs for me. Her thing is HEALTHY MEALS. That's something I'm still working on. In fac, t I will get to prepare several healthy dishes for my pinochle group soon. When I had my heart attack in 2019, she came to my rehab center to ask questions and talk to the nurses there on my behalf. She's not just a workout coach, she an "all about your total body coach." She has evn asked about my "poop", yeah, I said it. So Catherine cares about not only about your look, but what's going in and coming out of your body. You get more than your money's worth from her.
ReplyDeleteWasn't expecting to see her. Thank you 😊
